What Does Vision Have To Do With Your Past, Present and Future?

Vision is a very powerful tool in helping us realize our future .

I’ve come to understand that what we focus on we empower. God gave me a revelation one day that showed me just what vision does to us. He showed me a horizontal line with a dot on the left end and a dot in the middle and a dot on the right end. He than told me that the left dot represents all past, sin, sickness and sorrow in my life. The middle dot represents now/present. The right dot represents future, faith, His promises, health and prosperity. Then he showed me as we stand in our present we have a choice to make. We can either focus on our past and it will pull that past into our present and if we allow it, it will destroy our future. OR… if we will trust Him and focus on His promises of our future and stand in faith, that reality is what will manifest in our present and will continue on to completely destroy our past!

So you decide… what is your vision going to bring into your present?

Words… what is our responsibility?

Edward George Earle Lytton Bulwer Lytton, 1st ...

In my quiet time this morning I was contemplating what our responsibility is towards others in what we say, do, and write about.  As writers we can choose to write about anything and everything under the sun. But how many of us truly look at the possible ramifications of what it is we choose to write about? We can choose to write about meaningless thoughts that come to mind. We can write about destruction, we can put someone or some group down, exposing thoughts or feelings we might have toward them. We can choose to write about current events or gossip. We can write books to assist people in empowering themselves, or we can choose to write about positive, inspiring things that fill people with hope and life.

So what are the ramifications of the written word? Or for that matter of words in general?

Have you ever been in a situation where someone lied about something you did or blamed you for something you did not do? What about in a situation where someone said something to you that caused you to doubt yourself? Have you read a scary novel and experienced fear afterward? Or for that matter read about an earthquake or war? Have you ever had someone sincerely compliment you or help you do something that gave you a sense that they really cared for you? How does it make you feel to read about someone with impossible circumstances overcoming all odds?

So, do we have a responsibility for what we say? On paper or out of our mouths? I think we do. Personally, I want to be one of those people who feed others good, life-giving words. I want to be responsible for positive change in a person’s life. I’m more concerned with helping people out of the hole they are stuck in than with being popular, because let me tell you, you will have a bigger audience with putting the destruction and gossip out there. But what kind of audience to you really want to draw?

I believe that to walk in truly healthy lives we need to consider how we are treating others, and how that affects their health as well as creating a well-rounded health in our own lives. Yes, we all have our own free will. We all have freedom of speech, but that does not negate our responsibility to be good stewards of those words. One day we will all answer for what we do or do not do. I choose life. What about you?

A really wonderful book that helped me understand the importance of honoring others is  Culture of Honor: Sustaining a Supernatural Environment

The pen is mightier than the sword” is a metonymic adage coined by English author Edward Bulwer-Lytton in 1839 for his play Richelieu

WARNING!!!!! This is not your ordinary book on Money. This book is not for those looking to posses with Greed. It is for those who truly want to prosper in every area of your life. There is a supernatural anointing on this book!  I read it twice and both time is gave me chills! The revelation of true Kingdom Worship as it related to money is all over these pages.

It teaches the difference between the Poverty spirit and the worship of money or the spirit of Mammon and how to prosper and avoid both!

It is unique! Completely different from anything else I’ve ever read. Truly a gift from God!

I hope it blesses you as much as it has me!

Eagles Fly Without Band Aids

So many things in today’s world are based upon a philosophy  that hides, covers up or places a “band-aid”  on a problem.

Look at how many people are on medication today to treat “Symptoms” they are having. And then the medications give them side effects that they need more medication to treat the symptoms of the  side  effects. Ultimately this kind of behavior leads to death.

What about behavior issues and addictions? Society has chosen to give labels and place the blame on past hurts. And this has resulted in what? Broken people. Completely broken, chewed up, depressed people who feel no worth at all. They are given the band-aid of a label. Then told it’s okay to blame someone else. Then they are told they can’t be held responsible for their own actions. They never get to a place of feeling like they are worth anything because now they carry a label. They are never allowed take ownership of their own lives or accountability for their own actions.  So they believe the lie that they are worthless.

Where does it stop? Answer… at the root!

The ONLY way to stop this insanity is to start confronting the truth that everything we do, say, think, eat and believe has consequences either good or bad. And until we start making changes from the root, confronting the problem face on and getting rid of the excuses… well, there is no future of hope.

I had someone say to me once that I should just begin to accept people for who they are instead of always expecting them to change. I thought about that for a long time and then I realized that if we don’t offer change, we don’t offer hope!

People are suffering out there. BUT THERE IS HOPE. HOPE that absolutely requires change. I’m not ashamed to offer that, because I am able to see where it will take people. Unconditional love does not mean watching from the sidelines as someone destroys themselves.  In fact, there is NO love in that at all. That is like knowing someone is going to walk off a cliff and refusing to warn them about the ledge. Instead we need to set the example and lead people with an example of uncompromising integrity that steers them away from that ledge

When you better your life and get to the root of things, you get set free. Admitting to the things you did wrong and setting and example for others to do the same is an example of integrity. Sometimes it’s a lonely path to start on. But with time you will find other eagles to fly with. Then somewhere down the line people start to see the truth and make the necessary changes in their lives. Eventually looking back with thanksgiving toward you for that initial example.

Deep down, I think all people are born knowing the truth about what it is that is causing the problems. I just wish there were more people shining light on the answers. Maybe then it wouldn’t be so hard to make changes.

How Do You Get Peanut Butter Off Of The Roof Of Your Mouth?

So…
How do you get peanut butter off of the roof of your mouth?

You put it on your finger

How do you get peanut butter off of you finger?

You put it on the bottom of your shoe

How do you get peanut butter off of your shoe?

You put it on your finger

How do you get peanut butter off of your finger?

You put it on the roof of your mouth!

This may be just a silly little thing we tell our children to gross them out, but there is something about it that reminds me of people who just refuse to get out of the rut that they are in. It’s so hard to watch people you love struggle with things that you know the answer to and they just refuse to hear you. Isn’t this like doing things over and over again the same way and expecting different results? And isn’t that the definition of insanity? Don’t they see with each cycle the peanut butter gets more and more disgusting and less and less attractive to those watching it happen?

There is a saying that you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make him drink. All we can do is be that fountain of water and hope they wash the peanut butter off of their hands and take a drink before we get to sick of watching to stick around anymore!

Then again… maybe that’s what they are waiting for… hmm. Ponderous. Mmmmm peanut butter…

WHO do you think you are?

I’ve been prayerfully considering some blog topics to write about and you know once you ask… well I got a ton of topics. So here it goes.

Out of my passion to see people get set free from bondage’s in their lives and being set free from some myself, one of the most important things that I’ve learned is to ask myself WHO am I?And WHAT am I doing here?

In’ seeking the answers to these questions the realization came to me that I’ve been believing things that others have told me throughout my life and living up to those things! This was a truly startling revelation, because not all of those things were good!

You see the majority of the people on this planet grow up hearing all kinds of bad things in their lives. Hurting people, hurt people. It’s just the way it is! The thing is, I’ve realized that we have the choice whether we believe those things or not.

Most of us go through life being molded by the expectations, ridicule and demands that our parents and peers put on us. Few of us ignore those things and seek out our own identity. And often those who do, do it in a place of destructive rebellion. No instead we have allowed those misspoken words to guide our every step and limit our true abilities in life.

I’m not saying that those who spoke those things were doing so with bad intention. In fact most of the time the intention is good. Most of the time the person is speaking to try to help you avoid some of the mistakes that they have made in their past. Or sometimes they do it to just be mean. My point is… most of us are never told that we do not have to believe those things!

I have a saying that I adopted about 5 years ago when I began searching for my identity. Here it is… NO BODY HAS A RIGHT TO DEFINE YOU EXCEPT YOUR MAKER!

So instead of allowing other people’s opinions of you define you… instead of acting in rebellion and doing things in a self-destructive matter… wouldn’t it just be better to ask the maker of this universe who you are and what he wants for you? Seek out the promises that HE has for you. Like freedom, health, happiness, joy, peace, prosperity and significance.  He knit you in the womb for a special purpose that NO ONE else on the face of the earth can substitute for you. Find out what that is. Then focus on it. Obtain it and live it. Then, when He shows you the answers… simply choose to believe Him. Seek this out long enough and He will answer you. He is just waiting for you to ask.

There is nothing on the face of this earth that can match knowing what and who you were created to be. NOTHING!

I did this, and it changed my life forever… for the better.
